Background
Darrox has been developing its technology since 2008. The evolution has led from on-grid Savonius turbine to the current off-grid Darrieus construction. Pilot installations have operated well since 2009 in extremely harsh and challenging Finnish climate.

Market Focus
Darrox focuses on backing up radio base station (RBS) energy production. Electricity price represent > 20% of telecom operators’ costs and is rising. Customers also need to ensure 24/7 communication. Clever Darrox solution reduces energy consumption and secures operation. Thus, majority of existing over 7 million RBS towers can benefit from the system immediately.
Furthermore, Darrox solution can be installed completely stand-alone to produce all required RBS power without electric grid or diesel generator. This is a unique advantage for decentralized telecom systems in third world or remote locations.
